If you’re looking to get a huge chunk of souls (20,000) or make the Demon’s Greataxe or Demon’s Fist, then you’ll need to grab yourself a Soul of a Demon. However, if you didn’t want to drop the Fire Demon yourself in the Catacombs of Carthus, you can have a little fun it yourself.
First off, in order to find the Fire Demon in Dark Souls 3, you would need to hit up the Catacombs of Carthus. From there it’s as simple as breaking a traversable bridge yourself by cutting the ropes. It’s a wonder who thinks of this stuff. Once the bridge falls, you’re able to use the fallen wood as a ladder of sorts to descend into the mini-boss.
However, as stated before if you didn’t want to drop the Fire Demon yourself you can run into the room and get his attention. Once you do that, run back up the stairs to find a chest. Hitting the chest will spawn a mimic, and at that point, you simply roll off the ledge to safety as you watch the mimic defeat the fire demon itself. If you really want to have a little bit of fun then you can try to get the demon to attack the nearby skeletons, who will do what skeletons do best and overwhelm the demon until it’s dead.
In fact, this might be the preferred way to go about this, as this is one of the few times you can get enemies to fight each other. You might want to have a backup plan in case your playthrough has the Fire Demon taking out the mimic. However you decide to take out this mini-boss, you’ll have access to an easy 20,000 souls or a crafting item to make some powerful weapons.
