So, you are looking for a way to get the Ultima Weapon in Kingdom Hearts 3, are you? It definitely won’t be a walk in the park, so I will say this before you look around for a cheat code – there isn’t one.
Hey! Don’t be depressed!
Well, you will have to go through a long procedure to unlock and craft the weapon, but don’t try and spoil it for yourself. There will be nothing sweeter if you do go through with trying to obtain it. It is the most powerful keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3 that makes all your efforts worthwhile!
What, Where and How
In terms of power, the Ultima Weapon keyblade has 13 Strength and 13 Magic, as well as the Combo Boost, Air Combo Boost and Situation Boost passive abilities. And you’ll also be able to use the Ultimate Form “Formchange”, which can unleash a devastating range of attacks to cut through some of the toughest foes in Kingdom Hearts 3!
Tip: We recommend you only begin actively working towards crafting the Ultima Weapon prior to the final battle or after you have finished the main story.
So, to begin with, let’s go through what you will find in this article:
- First, we will go over the most important part: how to obtain the Ultima Weapon.
- Second, I will tell you step by step, how to obtain the Ultima Weapon in Kingdom Hearts 3.
- Finally, I will give you all the Orichalcum+ locations.
So, lets get going!
How to obtain the Ultima Weapon in Kingdom Hearts 3
This journey towards obtaining the ultimate weapon can take about 2 – 5 hours. Prepare yourself mentally and physically for it!
First you will need to unlock the Moogle Workshop to be able to forge the keyblade. This will not take very long and is in the early part of the main story.
Second, you will have to acquire the Ultima Weapon recipe.
Third, you will need to gather the necessary ingredients needed to craft Ultima Weapon.
Finally, you must return to the Moogle Workshop to forge the keyblade.
Most of these tasks will take some time and can at times be quite challenging. Don’t rush them, and mostly importantly, have fun in the process!
Getting the Ultima Weapon in Kingdom Hearts 3 Step by Step Guide
Unlocking the Moogle Workshop
First, you’ll need access to the Moogle Workshop in order to synthesise weapons, armors, accessories and items. Fortunately, this will occur naturally via the main story at a very early stage.
Acquiring the Ultima Weapon Recipe
Your next major step is acquiring the recipe for the Ultima Weapon. Throughout the game, you will see something called the Collector’s Goals tab. If not, it can be seen at the Moogle Workshop and is basically showing you how certain milestones reveal more gear for you to craft. A short way down the list is the ‘Obtain 58 different synthesis materials’ goal; this is the one you need to achieve to obtain the Ultima Weapon recipe.
Tip: We recommend you only begin actively working towards crafting Ultima Weapon prior to the final battle or after you have finished the main story of KH3. This is for two reasons. First, you need all seven worlds to obtain the crafting ingredients. Second, you will likely over the course of your journey obtain the 58 synthesis materials.
Gathering the Ingredients to Craft the Ultima Weapon
Ultima Weapon Ingredients List:
- 2 Pulsing Crystals
- 2 Lucid Crystals
- 2 Wellspring Crystals
- 7 Orichalcum+
The Crystals should be easy enough to rustle up without much hassle if you’ve been smacking every enemy and object in sight. You can even use some excess Wellspring Crystals to synthesise the other Crystals in the Moogle Workshop as they are more readily available from high level Heartless. The real challenge is the Orichalcum+.
Where to find all Orichalcum+ locations
All in all, there are a total of 7 Orichalcum+ located in the game. Seven pieces which are, in fact, exactly the number you need to build the Ultima Weapon keyblade. Some can definitely be more troublesome to obtain than others, so we’ve decided to make a how-to guide on how to find them all.
First Orichalcum+ Location
For your first Orichalcum+ you’ll need to take a snapshot of 80 Lucky Emblem locations hidden across Kingdom Hearts 3. While it sounds easy to do, it can take quite some time, so make sure you look for them and do them as often as you can.
Second Orichalcum+ Location
You can find this Orichalcum+ in a treasure chest in The Caribbean world. You will want to head over to Exile Island, a tiny island near horseshoe island. Right in the centre of Exile Island, you’ll locate a chest with the Orichalcum inside.
Third Orichalcum+ Location
This Orichalcum+ is located in The Final World. To return there after Sora’s brief journey in the main story you will have to go to the Keyblade Graveyard. Upon loading in, immediately turn around and head to the spot where you initially arrived in the Keyblade Graveyard. You’ll see a red warp gate in the center of the area that will take you to The Final World. The chest containing the Orichalcum+ is directly in front of you as soon as you enter.
Fourth Orichalcum+ Location
Unfortunately, there is no straight up way of obtaining this Orichalcum+. You’ll need a bit of luck to get this piece of Orichalcum+ sooner rather than later as it is a reward for mailing out Moogle Postcards in Twilight Town.
The most efficient way to get it is to go to the Tram Common in Twilight Town, buy a single Potion from the Moogle Shop, back out from the store and then drop off the postcard at the box nearby if you’re given one. Sadly, you’ll just have to repeat this process until you receive the Orichalcum+.
Tip: We recommend saving your game before starting this, just in case you get extremely unlucky and spend a lot of your Munny!
Fifth Orichalcum+ Location
For this Orichalcum+, you’ll need to go to Arendelle (Frozen world). In Arendelle, you will need to collect 10 treasures while playing the Slider mini game. You can unlock this mini game by speaking with Elsa just outside of the ice palace.
Sixth Orichalcum+ Location
The sixth Orichalcum+ will take you some time to fully complete. You will be using your Gummi Ship and you will need to defeat the Omega Machine boss to acquire it.
The Omega Machine boss is a part of The Eclipse galaxy which is where you’ll also find the Keyblade Graveyard. In order to take on the Omega Machine, you will first have to come out victorious in four other Gummi Battles in The Eclipse galaxy. Then, comes a fight which will likely leave you with you pulling your hair.
Tip: It’s a very difficult fight, so we’d recommend you face it with a Peak Gummi Ship purchased from Donald’s nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, in Twilight Town.
Seventh Orichalcum+ Location
The seventh and final Orichalcum+ is received by attaining high scores in all seven of the Flantastic Seven encounters. Each Flan appears on each world after you complete the main story on its respective world.
Here’s where you can find each flan:
- Olympus: Go up the stairs straight to the very top from the Thebes – Overlook save point.
- Toy Box: All you must do is search near the Rest Area save point on the bottom level of “Galaxy Toys.”
- Kingdom of Corona: Coming from Rapunzel’s Tower, go back through the secret trail and locate it in the clearing on the other side.
- Monstropolis: Start at the Factory – Basement save point. Next you will have to continue through the small white door which is leaning against the wall. Go on straight through the next area until you reach a wall covered in many small doors. Next, take the brown small door second from the left. Finally, head on through a small hallway behind you and you’ll see the flan sticking his little pudding head out of the ground.
- Arendelle: In Arendelle, go to the Mountain Ridge save point. You will want to jump off the cliff edge right behind the Moogle Shop. You should land directly on top of the flan.
- San Fransokyo: First you will need head to the building immediately in front of the South District save point. Then, you will want to head towards the skyscraper with an ‘M’ on the top of it. The flan is on the building opposite of that one.
- The Caribbean: Just head directly out onto courtyard on your direct right-hand side from the Port Royal – Fort save point.
Each one of the Flantastic Seven gives you a unique challenging mini game to play and the chance to receive some valuable cooking materials or new abilities. Get a high enough score in all seven mini-games and you’ll be given the seventh and final Orichalcum+. To make sure that you have accomplished a high enough score in each mini game, you will need to see the flan do something special. The flan will jump up in a celebratory manner and reward you with three cooking ingredients instead of just one. If you get one, or none, then you must try again until you see its little weird pudding-looking-thing celebration dance.
Crafting the Ultima Weapon
Again, here is the list of materials needed to craft the Ultima Weapon:
- 2 Pulsing Crystals
- 2 Lucid Crystals
- 2 Wellspring Crystals
- 7 Orichalcum+
Once you have collected all of the Orichalcum+ and the crystals, you will want to make a beeline for the Moogle Workshop. Use all of the materials listed and synthesize your Ultima Weapon! Use it wisely, or don’t, its up to you how you destroy your enemies.
