Some criticize the Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns DLC as merely another Harvest Moon, but if you simply love such farming games, would you so easily pass on a gem?
The Trio of Towns DLC for Story of Seasons is a game similar to the aesthetic and gameplay of Harvest Moon. Both games are about farming, but both Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon take a different approach to this genre. Since Story of Seasons is based on the original Harvest Moon series, there are certainly a lot of similarities, but is it worthwhile to even download it on ROM, 3DS, or CIA?
In Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns DLC, you can court characters similar to what you can do in Harvest Moon. For example, Inari, a female protagonist who is a fox spirit, is one of the characters whose heart is a target in Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns. As far as farming is concerned, it can be a bit repetitive, but that’s why you play these farming games, no? Comparatively, the pacing, compared to Harvest Moon, is very unique. In fact, some may say the developers got it right compared to its spiritual predecessor.
It’s fun to build friendships in the town because having a better relationship with the locals means you have access to better items and animals to boost your farm. It’s a really good incentive for the player to get out into, and interact with, the town other than merely finding a mate for your virtual life.
But, if you are aiming to turn Story of Seasons into your own virtual dating simulation game (kind of), then don’t let yourself be restricted! We even went so far as to review the bachelors in the game, and even checked out Klaus in-depth!
All-in-all the Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns DLC is a good break from Harvest Moon, and can be a great alternative for in-game farmers!
