Resident Evil 5 was released in March 2009 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox360 consoles, and the PC six months later. The survival horror game (with a touch more focus on action than previous games in the franchise) received widespread praise for its design and gameplay. This is why the same is still popular with gamers today. It’s no secret that older games tend to be much more modification friendly than new games, and Resident Evil 5 is no exception.
Costume and character modding allows you to add a personal touch and inject something new into a game you’ve probably played many times before.
Here are some of the best costume mods for RE5 on PC:
Sliced Enemies (Bloodiest) by Cerberus
This mod replaces the Town Majini skins and Adjule skins with a scarier, bloodier version that takes the survival horror theme to the next level. The Town Majini are residents infected with Type 2 Plagas, which turns them into Magini, or “Evil Spirit” in Swahili. The Adjule is a type of African wild dog that is also infected with Type 2 Plagas. You can download these spiritual mods here.
Jill Valentine STARS Reskin by Frank Wesker
Jill Valentine is a central protagonist in the Resident Evil series and has gone through several redesigns throughout the game’s history. In RE5, Jill wears a “battle suit” that was designed to reflect the assumption that she has been experimented on. However, some players prefer the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (STARS) outfit that Jill wears in the first Resident Evil, and this mod does just that. You can be a star and download it here.
Desert Warfare 2.0 Costume Mod by Cerberus
This mod replaces the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA) outfits worn by Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar with a “desert warfare” costume mod. Great attention to detail has been put into the design of the costumes and the RE5 modding community has praised Cerebus for his efforts. Don’t go unprepared for the desert – get your mod here.
Raiden Metal Gear Rising Character Mod by Sr. Wesky
This ambitious mod replaces the Chris Redfield playable character with Raiden from Metal Gear Rising. It also replaces the Albert Wesker midnight costume with a Raiden costume. This mod is fun because it connects players from both games with a stylish character mod with an (almost) bug-free experience and a huge hit of nostalgia. This mod shall rise up to the challenge.
Leon from RE4 Replaces Chris Redfield by Clarke Griffin
This mod replaces the playable character Chris Redfield with American federal agent Leon Scott Kennedy from Resident Evil 4. Leon is one of the two leading characters in RE2 and his storyline runs throughout the games. So, for many gamers, Leon is a much-loved character they want to be able to play in RE5. The model is very polished with only one minor hair bug that doesn’t detract from the gaming experience. Want to be Leon? Check it out here.
Replace RE5 Chris Redfield with RE6 Chris Redfield Plus Some Cool Reskins by IronSoul
This impressive character mod replaces RE5 Chris with the same character from RE6 for a more updated and polished look. In addition to this, the mod includes some stunning reskins. You can have “Asia Chris”, “Edonia Chris”, or “Samurai Chris”. This mod has received a lot of attention on Nexus, with one gamer commenting:
“Okay, this caught my attention and simply amazing! I’m simply blown away from this!”
The model and reskins look great in game and on the cut screens. Go ahead and get blown by this mod.
