So, ya thought yer gonna git gud with ’em sixers on yer mouse ‘n keyboard, eh? Ain’t goin’ down that road, this game. Mehbe!
Why is Red Dead Redemption not released on PC? Well, Rockstar, the developer of the famous Red Dead Redemption series, has yet to commit to saying anything about a PC port for the games.
PC players have been feeling the frustration of waiting for a possible port on their all-adaptable device, however, if we’re following their formula of a year or so long wait for PC ports, then we’re coming upon a window of an announcement at the very least.
However, PC players who want some kind of solace have already datamined a companion app, leaking a video showcasing a settings page, and much more obnoxious impatient behavior. The good news is that a PC port is inevitable, it’s all just a matter of “when?” as “there is absolutely no downside to releasing Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PC” according to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.
While Rockstar was absent from E3, it does keep its player base updated through blogs and social media. Hopefully, there’s good news for PC players on the horizon. We’re looking forward to the future of Red Dead Redemption 2. So while we’re waiting for the port, those who already have a console to play it with can first look forward to the games’ future plans.
The Future is Red
Recently, the PS4 and Xbox One systems saw the release of the Rail Road Baron free roam event which lets players ride the train rails to capture as many trains as possible. The summer has some exciting news and updates regarding one of the more successful titles of this generation.
Plan 1: Character Resets
Character reset is a feature found in other games where you can alter your character’s appearance without it being a detriment to your progress. A lot of fans were confused as to why this wasn’t a feature from the start as it’s not exactly a hard feature to implement. Thankfully, Red Dead Redemption 2 makers have confirmed the feature is coming, meaning you’ll be able to retain their playstyle preference.
Plan 2: Career Paths
Character roles are an aspect of the game that will make Red Dead Online a little more immersive for people who want to live out their old western fantasies while sitting at home on the couch. The three confirmed roles launching this summer will be the Collector, Trader, and Bounty Hunter. For example, the Bounty Hunter, obviously, will hunt for criminals. Choosing a role allows the player to specialize and have role-specific outfits and weapons. This adds a more immersive roleplay aspect to an already successful game.
It’s a pity that this pioneer of the series won’t make it to PC so easily, but thankfully, its successor, Red Dead Redemption 2, will see a port to PC! We gave a quick review of it and highly recommend everyone to get the game!
