If you’re looking for the Witcher 3 Master of the Arena quest, you don’t have to do too much to locate it. However, you can’t just come out of the gate and initiate it immediately upon launching The Witcher 3. You will have to attain level 14 first, so that means you have to progress through the game a little bit.
However, once you get to level 14, you have to return to Spiekeroog and head to the battle arena. Unfortunately, you’re only going to get 20 crowns for your return to Spiekeroog.
Once you get to the battle arena, head to the northeast of Spiekeroog island and speak with the warriors you’ll find on the walkway. Ensure you talk to them first before you make your way to send Ulle, the ghost, back to the grave.
Once you face Ulle the Unlucky, the ghost who will ultimately lose, then you have to wait. How long, you may ask? Don’t worry, not very. You simply need to meditate 24 hours before trying to face off with him again. Or if you’d like to spend the 24 hours in a more meaningful way, consider attempting to complete your collection of Gwent cards.
Be aware that beating him means you need to almost lose to him. In order for the end of the quest to trigger, you have to take a bit of a beating. When you win, the curse will be broken, but you have to take some time before you can collect your reward.
Unfortunately, some may encounter a bug trying to do the Witcher 3 Master of the Arena quest. You might be told, after defeating the ghost, that the villagers still need help.
It can be demotivating to go through this quest only to find out there’s a bug that doesn’t give you the dialogue to finish it!
Some say the way to get past this bug is to fast-travel away, and then try coming back after waiting for some time. Hopefully that helps you complete the Witcher 3 Master of the Arena quest!
