Cards Up Every Beginner’s Sleeves


These are the default cards you get after unlocking this mode. The units you have available aren’t the best cards in the game but they’re going to help you through some grueling battles!



Arrows is a common spell card unlocked during the tutorial. It’s best used against large groups of enemies with low health or buildings ready to be destroyed.


Fireball is a rare spell card unlocked during the tutorial. It does area damage and can be used to kill off smaller troops.

Goblin Hut

Goblin Hut is a rare building card unlocked in Arena 1. Once destroyed, Goblin Hut spawns 3 spear goblins.

Mini P.E.K.K.A.

The Mini P.E.K.K.A. is a rare troop card unlocked in the tutorial that can deal big damage on its own or alongside other cards like a Giant.

The knight is a common troop card that can be used as a tank or for decent damage. Unfortunately, he can only melee target one at a time.

Baby Dragon

The Baby Dragon card is an epic rarity troop card found in the training camp that deals area attack damage. The Baby Dragon is good in Clash Royale beginner deck for area damage for lower health enemies.

Archers are a common troop card unlocked in the tutorial. They’re mostly for support and have lower damage potential and low hit points. However, they are good for crowd control.

Spear Goblins

Spear Goblins are a common troop card unlocked in Arena 1. They’re good support troops but they’re very weak and expendable.

Skeleton Army

Skeleton Army is an epic rarity card unlocked during the tutorial that can be great for overwhelming a single target with high damage.

Musketeer is a rare troop card who can target both ground and air troops and is good support for troops with higher hit points.


Goblins are a common troop type card unlocked in arena 1 and good for a Clash Royale beginner deck as they’re effective single-target units.

The Prince is an epic troop card, unlocked in the tutorial, who is strong against buildings due to his charge attack that does double damage if not hindered.

Goblin Barrel

The Goblin Barrel is an epic rarity spell card that spawns three goblins when launched from the King’s Tower. They’re good for unreachable buildings.


The giant is a rare troop card unlocked during the tutorial that’s good for taking damage for your other units.

Protect His Highness!

One of the best ways to use the default deck in arena 1 is by using the Prince and Mini P.E.K.K.A. as your tanks, as you focus-march your troops toward the enemy tower. Use supporting cards, such as the Skeleton Army, Archers, and Musketeer, to clear the way so your Prince can travel unhindered towards enemy buildings. The Baby Dragon can help take down weaker enemies with its area of effect damage.
